BMW has updated the iX, the electric SUV originally launched in 2021, with a facelift that improves performance, range, and onboard technology. The update isn’t a radical change, but it brings enough improvements to keep the iX competitive in the premium electric SUV segment.
What’s changed?
✔ Extended range – up to 701 km WLTP on the iX xDrive60 version.
✔ More power – the iX xDrive45 gets +82 hp, reaching 408 hp, and the iX M70 xDrive reaches 659 hp.
✔ Improved fast charging – up to 195 kW DC, charging 10-80% in under 30 minutes.
✔ Retouched design – redesigned front grille, revised LED headlights and new premium colors.
✔ Advanced technology – iDrive 8.5, new functions for electric navigation and 5G connectivity.
Performance and Extended Range
The BMW iX is available in three engine variants:
- iX xDrive45 – 408 hp, WLTP range of up to 602 km.
- iX xDrive60 – 544 hp, WLTP range of up to 701 km.
- iX M70 xDrive – 659 hp, 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds, WLTP range of up to 600 km.
All models are equipped with electric all-wheel drive, a high-capacity battery (up to 109.1 kWh) and an energy recovery system optimized for maximum efficiency.
Elegant Design with Sporty Accents
The new BMW iX comes with a modern and imposing design, featuring a redesigned front grille, adaptive LED headlights and exclusive personalization options such as the M Sport Package and BMW Individual colors. The M70 xDrive model benefits from distinctive M elements, including 22 or 23-inch M wheels and an aggressive aerodynamic package.
The BMW iDrive system, based on BMW Operating System 8.5, offers an advanced digital experience with support for video streaming, gaming and voice control of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The model includes 5G connectivity, the Plug & Charge Multi Contract function for efficient charging and optimized navigation for charging stations.
Fast Charging and Energy Efficiency
- DC fast charging of 175-195 kW, allowing charging from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
- AC charging with 22 kW for a convenient experience at home and public stations.
- MAX RANGE function, which can increase autonomy by up to 25% in critical situations.
The 2025 BMW iX facelift isn’t a revolution, but it’s a smart upgrade. With extended range, improved performance, and cutting-edge technology, the iX remains one of the most attractive premium electric SUVs.
