The Volkswagen Golf 8 Facelift 2024 has just been presented, let’s see how it compares with the previous model from 2020. What to look at to be able to distinguish them more easily, what new features it comes with in terms of design, interior, engines and others.

Exterior design
The 2020 VW Golf 8 adopts a fluid and aerodynamic exterior design, with a thin front grille that joins the headlights, but also a minimalist bar. The back has a well-defined design, with similarly narrow optical blocks.
Volkswagen Golf 8 Facelift 2024 brings a slightly modified exterior design with slightly redesigned headlights with a new light signature, but also an illuminated logo on the front. The rear is slightly modified, with new taillights, the LED light signature of the taillights can be modified.

Interior design
The 2020 VW Golf 8 came with a fully digitized interior, with a virtual cockpit and an 8.25 or 10-inch central touchscreen that integrates all the car’s functions.
In the VW Golf 8 Facelift we have, instead, a much larger multimedia screen. A 10.4-inch screen is installed on the basic equipment, and on the higher ones we are talking about a 12.9-inch screen. The touch controls for climate control and volume have been retained, and are now illuminated.

Engines
The Golf 8 is available in a full range of engines: 4 TSI, 2 TDI, 3 eTSI (mild-hybrid) and 2 plug-in hybrid models (one of which will be the sporty Golf GTE that offers an autonomy of 60 kilometers in electric mode).
The engines of the Volkswagen Golf 8 Facelift 2024 are similar to those of the Volkswagen Golf 8, but they come with some improvements. The engine range of the new Golf will initially consist of two plug-in hybrid systems (eHybrid and GTE), two mild hybrid systems with 48 V technology (eTSI), four turbo petrol engines (TSI) and two turbodiesel engines (TDI).
These are the main differences between the Volkswagen Golf 8 2020 and the Volkswagen Golf 8 Facelift 2024. Even if the new model is an updated version of the previous generation, there is an obvious evolution of both the design and the technology on board. What do you think?

[…] The eighth generation represents a step towards the future. With a more fluid and aerodynamic exterior design, the Golf also brought new elements, such as the illuminated front grille or LED matrix headlights. The interior is fully digitized, with a virtual cockpit and a central touchscreen that integrates all the car’s functions. […]
