
Audi A3 8L [1996-2000]
The first generation of the Audi A3 was launched at a time when Audi was searching for its identity in the compact segment. Initially released in 3 doors, the A3 came with an exterior design that borrowed lines from the brand’s larger models and an interior that emphasized quality and ergonomics.
Engines ranged from 1.6 liter petrol engines to the powerful 1.9 liter turbo diesel versions introduced in 2000.

Audi A3 8L Facelift [2000-2003]
In 2000, the Audi A3 received a Facelift version, which brought small exterior and interior changes.

Audi A3 8P [2003-2005]
With the second generation, Audi improved the recipe for success. The exterior design has become more dynamic, with more sculpted shapes and a more imposing presence on the road. The interior has been refined with high quality materials and great attention to detail.

In terms of engines, the A3 introduced new TFSI and TDI units, which combine performance with efficiency, and marked the debut of Fuel Stratified Injection technology.
Audi A3 8P Facelift [2005-2008]
The Audi A3 8P Facelift, launched in 2005, brought many improvements over the original model launched in 2003.
One of the most notable changes was the redefinition of the exterior design, which now included more modern-looking headlights, more defined body contours and a new front grille, more in line with Audi’s visual identity at the time. These changes not only improved the car’s aesthetic appearance, but also contributed to improved aerodynamics.
In terms of engines, Audi introduced new more efficient and powerful engine options, including the 2.0 TFSI variant, which offered an impressive combination of performance and efficiency.

Audi A3 8P Facelift [2008-2013]
In 2008, Audi introduced the Facelift version which was available in three body styles: three-door, five-door and a convertible. The front part enjoys the single frame grill from the A8, but also a redesigned bar. The interior was also refreshed and adapted to those times.

Audi A3 8V [2012-2016]
The third generation brought a revolution in the design of the Audi A3, but also a new body style, sedan. The exterior lines have become sharper, reflecting an evolution towards a more modern and aggressive style. The interior has been completely redesigned, with a driver-oriented cockpit and cutting-edge technologies such as the MMI infotainment system and Audi virtual cockpit.

The engines have been optimized to offer even more power and efficiency, and the A3 has also become available in the e-tron, plug-in hybrid version.
Audi A3 8V Facelift [2016-2020]
In 2016, the A3 received a Facelift version that brought a slightly refreshed look. New headlights, new grille and larger air intakes in front, but also new rear taillights. The interior was not very different from the previous model, but a new 12.3-inch touchscreen was available.

Audi A3 8Y [2020-2024]
The fourth-generation A3 was launched in 2020 and is only available in five-door Sportback or four-door sedan form. The new generation A3 is a demonstration of strength in terms of technology, but also design, strongly inspired by Lamborghini.
With sharp and bold shapes, the exterior features a wider Singleframe grille and Matrix LED headlights, while the fully digitized interior offers a futuristic look. An important change was made to the air vents, Audi abandoning the round ones that have consecrated the A3 since the beginning.

Under the hood, powertrains include mild-hybrid and TFSIe options that promise uncompromising performance and efficiency.
Audi A3 8Y Facelift [2024-Present]
The A3 received a much-needed refresh in 2024 and represents a step forward in the model’s evolution. The new Audi A3 gets new headlights, a new front grille with a flatter design and large angular air intakes, offering an aggressive and dynamic look. The rear of the car benefits from new taillights as well as a new diffuser and a spoiler inspired by the RS models.
Inside, the Audi A3 looks even better. New materials were introduced, a new design for the ventilation holes and a completely redesigned central console. In front of the driver was the same LCD screen, complemented by a touchscreen above the center stack for the infotainment system.

Audi A3 2024 is available in Sportback, Sedan, but also an AllStreet version. Under the hood, Audi installed two engine options: a 35 TFSI gasoline engine and a 35 TDI diesel engine, and additional options, including a TFSIe hybrid model, will be added later.
