Hyundai Ioniq – 2016
In 2016, at the Geneva and New York auto shows, Hyundai made a revolution in the “green” vehicle segment by launching the new IONIQ model, the first vehicle in the world to offer three different propulsions – Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, IONIQ Plug-In and IONIQ Electric.
The design of the car was similar to that of the Toyota Prius, with a sloping back and a long tailgate that hid a very large trunk. In front, it had a large hexagonal grille and headlights elongated towards the back.

The hexagonal shapes can also be found inside, where it had a 7-inch infotainment unit and a digital instrument panel. Standout standard features were the leather steering wheel, autonomous emergency braking and lane keep assist.
Under the hood, as I said, there were three powertrain options. A standard hybrid, a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric version.
Hyundai Ioniq – 2019
In 2019, Hyundai Ioniq received a refresh with aesthetic and technical changes. The facelift version received a number of changes at the front, especially at the level of the grille. Also, the front and rear bumpers, as well as the front and rear headlights, have been updated, giving the car a more dynamic look.
Inside, Hyundai introduced a new 10.25-inch AVN display for the navigation system and a new control panel for seat heating and climate control. The electric version of the Ioniq received a new 7-inch LCD console display, which was also available for the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions in their higher trim levels.

From a technical point of view, the Ioniq Electric version has been improved, being equipped with a 100k W electric motor, and the battery capacity has increased from 28 kWh to 38.3 kWh and offers an autonomy of 294 kilometers. Also introduced is the Blue Link smartphone app, which allows both starting and stopping the car and quickly viewing battery status information.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 – 2021
For the second generation Ioniq, Hyundai launched a compact SUV this time in 2021. The Ioniq 5 is the first electric vehicle in the range to use the Hyundai E-GMP platform, which ensures a long wheelbase and more interior space.
The Ioniq 5 features a futuristic design, with right angles, square headlights with LED daytime running lights. and a minimalist front grille. The handles are hidden in the doors, keeping an aerodynamic coefficient together with the body design for maximum autonomy.

A minimalist and futuristic design can also be found inside, the Ioniq 5 being equipped with a 12-inch flat display for the dashboard and the infotainment system mounted together, discreetly integrated air vents and a sliding central console.
The 2021 Ioniq 5 came with two power options: a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive variant or two engines, one on each axle. At the same time, there were two battery options: a standard one of 58kWh and one for Long Range of 72.6kWh. Moreover, the car could be used as a powerbank, being able to charge multiple accessories, such as a laptop or even an electric scooter.
Hyundai Ioniq 6 – 2022
The Ioniq 6 is part of the third generation of this series and is a 4-door sedan with a coupe look. The new model has a fluid and aerodynamic design with smooth surfaces, especially the rear, with the duck tail and the additional spoiler placed at the bottom of the rear windshield. Also, its elegant curves are punctuated by some pixel-like headlights and taillights, a design that can also be found on the housing of the cameras that replace the conventional exterior mirrors.
The interior of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is spectacular even if it borrows elements from the Ioniq 5, the simple design of the dashboard with a wide-screen infotainment system consisting of two 12-inch displays and the ambient lighting system, give the car a futuristic look. The biggest difference between the two models is given by the fixed central console, instead of the sliding one of the previous model.

Under the hood, the Ioniq 6 is available with two power versions of the electric drive, the most powerful being 325 horsepower. Two battery options are also available. A 53 kWh version with a single electric motor that sends power to the rear wheels, and a larger 77.4 kWh battery version. This version is powered by two electric motors, and an all-wheel drive system is available as an option.
